Centralis has become the first partner in EMEA to be awarded Platinum level partnership with Thinstall - the application streaming specialists.
Thinstall allows organisations to virtualise application installations - creating installations that can be run as a single .exe from USB sticks, fileshares or desktops with no additional infrastructure needed.
As part of the certification, Centralis had to demonstrate their application virtualisation skills by packaging applications and submitting them to independent quality assurance.
Thinstall is an Application Virtualization Platform that enables complex software to be delivered as self-contained EXE files which can run instantly with zero installation from any data source. The core of Thinstall VS is the Virtual Operating System, a small light-weight component which is embedded with each “Thinstalled” application. Application virtualisation dramatically simplifies the installation and maintenance of applications whilst reducing support costs and improving the user experience. It also has a major part to play in simplifying application and operating system migrations.

UK-based Citrix specialist Centralis is celebrating 10 years as a software vendor and value-added-reseller by offering Citrix customers a fully functioning copy of its Harvester farm management software for up to 200 servers – free on evaluation for 30 days.
Centralis is a member of the Citrix Global Alliance Partnership, using 10 years experience of providing its UK customers with managed services to develop a unique set of automation and reporting tools without the need for scripting, launched as Harvester 1.0 in 2002.
The current version, Centralis Harvester 4.2, is compatible with Citrix Presentation Server 3.0 and 4.0. The free trial will extend until the release of Harvester 4.5, due Q2 2007 following the release of Citrix Presentation Server 4.5.
The software, which requires no installation or agents on the Citrix servers themselves, is simple to run and includes a comprehensive toolset of reporting and administration features, making farm-wide analysis, audit and change management simple to achieve.
Ewen Anderson, Centralis Managing Director, said: “Customers have used Harvester to diagnose, report on and manage some of the largest Citrix farms in the world. It allows farm managers to thoroughly analyse the Citrix environment, plan and make the change, then check everything worked as planned. Managers can check all the critical settings every day if needed – providing a quality of service to their organisations that just wouldn’t be possible without Harvester.”
The free trial is open to any end-user organisation and can simply be downloaded from the Centralis website (see link below). Full commercial licenses are available from Centralis or authorised resellers. Consulting, reseller and service-based agreements are also available to Citrix partners by separate agreement with Centralis.
