I tried to open an Application Profile and received a message saying that the profile was locked even though no-one else was accessing it at the time.
AXE uses a Microsoft Access database to store it's data. Access uses 'page locking' rather than record locking, which means that an Application Profile could be locked simply because of its proximity to the Profile actually being edited. |

If I choose not to save changes to an Application Profile after altering it, some of my changes are still saved.
Most changes to items in an Application Profile are not transactioned and cannot be undone. Only changes made to data on the Application Profile Details tab can be undone. |
Why can't I call an imported Profile the same name as one that already exists, even if it exists in another Profile folder? |
AXE requires Application Profiles to have a unique name within the AXE database. |
I created an Application Profile and set the value of the User ID to '1'. After exporting the Profile, every occurrence of '1' in the resulting AXT file had been replaced with
%CN%. |
One of the basic functions of AXE is to substitute known values, such as the User ID, with variables. It is important to ensure that the data you provide is accurate and not ambiguous. If you do not know the User ID of the user who created the snapshot, you should leave it blank, although this will not take full advantage of the benefits AXE can provide with regard to application portability. |

I am using NT4 SP4, but I cannot access the Help feature.
AXE uses the Compiled HTML Help format which was introduced with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. Installing this will allow Help to be used. |

When I performed an Integrity Check on my AXE database, it took a long time to complete and I was unable to use any other applications whilst this was in progress.
Integrity checking is a processor intensive operation and, depending on the size of the database, can take some considerable time. |

When I am viewing the properties of an Application Profile in Read-Only mode, drop-down lists are enabled but do not allow me to make a selection.
Changes cannot be made to an Application Profile in Read-Only mode. The drop-down lists are enabled so that you can see what selections are available. |

Problems
with long eDirectory container paths |
AXE reduces eDirectory Location Paths to 60 characters in length.
We are about to issue a Hot Fix to correct this. Please keep checking
