How is a Citrix Application Delivery Solution Supported and Managed?

Maintaining a Citrix Application Delivery solution is a specialist task. Centralis customers can choose between training their own staff, backed by our support contracts, and using Centralis to provide a fully managed Citrix environment.

Support & Management

Citrix Application Delivery Solutions deliver their benefits by providing a centralised, shared service. The benefits therefore depend on the long term health and strength of that centralised service.

Due to the complex nature of the Citrix environment and the effect that minor issues can have on user experience and the overall service delivery, Centralis recommend that all Citrix deployments are backed by a proactive farm management regime in addition to the technical support. This is to ensure that preventative maintenance is applied to prevent user disruption, rather than simply providing a reactive service when disruption has already happened. Organisations require varying levels of support, typically provided by a combination of in-house staff and external support contracts.

Managed Services

Centralis has directly managed Citrix XenApp (Presentation Server / MetaFrame) farms for customers since 1999, and currently provides this service for a number of major UK corporate and academic customers. The service is provided in addition to the Advanced Support provisions, and is based on our practical experience of large scale farm management. The main benefit of the service is to ensure the stability and quality of the server farm – which is essential to the quality of service delivered to the end-users.
