The health sector has been a major focus for Centralis for many years, and strategic IT decisions within the sector are likely to cause a significant increase in the use of application and desktop delivery technology in the coming years. Centralis has undertaken a range of projects for NHS customers, from the strategic delivery of local systems to assisting with the deployment of the new national Connecting for Health systems.
In the UK, the Centralis case study and reference portfolio in the health sector now includes work for the University Hospitals of Leicester, Dudley Primary Care Trust, East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust, Royal Marsden Hospital, Cornwall NHS Trust, Durham & Darlington NHS Trust, Epsom & St Helier NHS Trust, Ealing Primary Care Trust, South Downs Health NHS Trust. Kent & Medway PCT, Clinisys, Eastern & Coastal Kent PCT and Stockport NHS Trust.
At Citrix iForum 2004 in Edinburgh, the Deputy IT Director of the University of Wales College of Medicine presented a Citrix case study covering the Centralis project to securely integrate delivery of University's systems with those of the NHS across Wales, in a session directly after the keynote speeches.
Centralis projects in the health sector have included delivering shared services, providing access to diagnostic systems over low bandwidth and wireless connections, and delivering access to external systems from within NHS sites.
In the not for profit health care sector Centralis customers include BUPA and Nuffield Hospitals.
