How do I
install Harvester across my Citrix farm?
Harvester does not need to be installed on your servers. It needs no
agents and runs as an executable on either a server in the farm or from
a PC with the appropriate configuration. The Harvester "Getting
Started" guide has full details on configuration.
How does
Harvester manage the farm?
Harvester communicates with the Citrix IMA using MFCOM. This allows
Harvester to talk directly to the Citrix service to request information
or ask for changes to be made. This is in effect the same as making
those requests through the Citrix console - just much quicker!

Why should I use
Harvester?
Harvester simplifies and automates complex and repetitive tasks. To
illustrate how Harvester can save time and effort, please consider how
you would change the Colour Depth of all your Citrix Published
Applications. Making the change using the Citrix Management
Console:
- Select the first Published Application right click and select
Properties
- Select Application Appearance and use the pull down list to set
the Colour Depth to the required setting
- Click OK to save your changes
- Make a note that this Published Application has been changed (in
case of support calls)
- Repeat steps 1 to 4 for each Published Application
Using Centralis Harvester to carry out the same task:
- Click on the Applications Folder and choose "select all
Published Applications"
- Right Click and choose Set Attribute
- Select Application Appearance and use the pull down list to set
the Colour Depth to the required setting
- Click OK to apply your changes, then confirm the change
- The change is applied to every Published Application in the Farm
Why not just use scripts?
Harvester provides a simple, single point from which to analyse and
change your Citrix farm. It does not need to be copied to every server,
does not need documentation and is backed by a certified Citrix Business
Alliance partner.

How is Harvester Licensed?
Centralis Harvester is licensed by the number of Citrix
Presentation
Servers in your environment. Licenses are issued in multiples
of five. Discounts are available for volume purchases and
selected organisation types.
An Unlimited server license is also available for larger
environments.
What if the Licensing model does not
fit my requirements?

a specific license and price.
I want to purchase upgrade protection for Harvester. Do Centralis
offer this?
Yes, annual maintenance and upgrade protection are available at
20% of purchase price. Please contact your authorised reseller
or
sales@centralis.co.uk for a quotation.
Can I purchase my licenses from a reseller?
Yes, a list of authorised resellers is available on the
Centralis website.
What is
included in the evaluation license?
The evaluation license is fully functional but the evaluation license expires 30 days
after the license code has been issued. If you need more time
or more servers please contact
sales@centralis.co.uk to request an extension.
Does the Harvester Auditor's Edition require
it's own license key?
Yes, however this is issued free to anyone purchasing the
Administrator's edition.
I work for an educational / not for
profit establishment - Do Centralis offer an
educational discount?
