New Features in Harvester 4.5

What's new In Harvester 4.5?  We've made a lot of changes from version 2.0 to the way the product works in order to make it faster and easier to use.  There are new features for managing Presentation Server 4.0 / 4.5, and more flexible reporting options, plus the new Auditor's version - allowing customers to give all the reporting and diagnostic power of Harvester to support staff without allowing them to make farm-wide changes.

Compatibility
Harvester is now Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 and 4.5 compatible.

Harvester 2.0 provides support for previous versions of Presentation Server.

Improved Management of Published Applications
New functionality to simplify and accelerate farm management tasks:

• Add / remove lists of applications to multiple users or servers in one operation
• Move published applications between Citrix Presentation Server farms

Auditors Edition
If you have varying levels of support you may wish to give Read / Report only access to certain staff.  Harvester now supports an Auditors Edition which provides all the reporting and diagnostic features, but does not allow any changes to be made to the farm.

Improved Server Status Reporting
Create an instant status report for all the servers in the farm, by automatically:

• “Pinging” each server
• Checking the online status as reported in the IMA
• Checking the IMA / RDP ports are available

Farm Level Enhancements
New functionality allows farm administrators to:

• Save the entire farm configuration to an XML file
• Restore a complete Farm configuration, or carry out a historical compare against the reference XML file

User Management
A new set of tools for Harvester 4:

• Search by username for one or more user sessions in the farm
• Disconnect sessions, log off users or send them a message
• Report on Citrix Administrators in the farm

Improved Reporting
Reports can now be saved based on template configuration files. These files can then be specified via the command line enabling Harvester to dynamically output the report to HTML/CSV.   You can also choose to view only matches or exceptions for a particular setting.
