has evolved significantly, particularly in the area of remote
update and management. The latest version even extends to
Windows Mobile (formerly Windows CE) devices. With thousands of
CLAM devices running for many years, Centralis customers have
put critical elements of their business within the CLAM shell –
and seen great results.
Savings as Standard
CLAM is not suitable for every customer or every device
however. The software is typically deployed onto a standard
build, or is part of a new build which is deployed. The
discipline pays dividends however, with customers reporting a
two-thirds saving in return to base for repair when compared
with non-CLAM devices – that’s a big saving in both direct costs
and productive time.

Should the role requirements change CLAM is easy to modify,
customise and update. Even disconnected devices can easily be
updated from CD or DVD. Our solution is CLAM - combining the
capabilities of a PC with the low cost of ownership of a kiosk
device or thin client, without having to change the existing
hardware. The TCO argument for thin client devices is good for future
purchasing strategy- but can buying new hardware to replace
buying new hardware to replace existing PCs really be justified?
What if using and supporting all those PCs could be made much
simpler and cheaper? Make them simple, standard and centrally
managed desktop devices and all those TCO benefits could be
delivered without the capital cost.
Rather than replace hardware, CLAM delivers the TCO benefits
